Sleeping in an RV: Change Camping into Glamping – What You Need To Know About RV Bedding

Snoozing in an RV can be cozy and fun or an absolute nightmare—find out how to make sleeping in an RV a pleasant experience.

An RV can act as a home away from home on the road, but it does come with some unique challenges. When you are sleeping in an RV, you have quite a few decisions to make—and your decisions can lead to a great experience or a truly terrible one. In this article, we will explore how you can improve bedtime in your RV.

Glamping Challenges Every RV Traveler Deals With

  • Sleeping in an RV can be a really frustrating experience if you make the wrong choices. Countless RV owners have hit the road just to find out that their bed situation is downright terrible.

Living in such a small space, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that it is really easy to make a mess—and you’ll learn very quickly that limited space does not make for a comfortable bed-making process. Trying to put sheets for bunk beds on in these tight spaces is rough, after all.

Choosing to skip the bed and opt for a sleeping bag can be tempting, but it is also not the best decision because it adds unnecessary wear and tear to your sleeping bag and sleeping bags are fairly difficult to clean.

Yes, Your Bed Needs a Top Sheet—Here’s Why

For ages, the masses have debated the relevancy of the top sheet and its role in bed making. Top sheet vs no top sheet is a discussion that comes with quite a few opinions. Some people love their top sheets and consider them a valued member of their linens collection. Others are against the top sheet because they can wind themselves up while you sleep, complicating the bed-making process. In this article, we are going to explore the true benefits a modern top sheet can bring—and why your bed deserves one.

They Improve Your Aesthetic

  • There are few things better than climbing into a well-made bed after a long day, but it is even better when the bed looks nice too. Top sheets have been used as a valuable decor feature for some time, offering that perfect splash of color when you fold over your comforter. A folded top sheet is the perfect finish to any bedding.

They Provide Excellent Temperature Control

People often find themselves with different temperature needs at night. These needs can be dictated by the temperature that you keep your home at, the temperature that you are personally comfortable at, and even the weather outside. Trying to chase these changes with your heater or air conditioner can really drive up your energy bill, and nobody wants that. Fortunately, your top sheet is here to save the day.

The colder months can really drop the temperature of your home, and not everyone wants to have the heat running all night long. A top sheet can provide an added layer of insulation and keep you comfortable at night, even when it is chilly outside.

During those warmer months, your comforter might just be a bit much. Having a top sheet can allow you to stay covered and protected with a light layer when it is warmer at night. It is a great way to enjoy the comfort of a comforter without all of that extra insulation.

They Protect Your Comforter

One of the most important roles of a top sheet is the protection of your duvet or comforter. When you use a top sheet, you are placing a clean layer between you and your comforter. This means that you can keep your comforter nice and clean for significantly longer.

You might think that your comforter is big and strong, but the truth is that comforters and duvets are actually vulnerable. They often require a very specific cleaning process, and overwashing can cause quite a bit of damage—or lead to costly bills. Your top sheet can be washed as often as you like, all while protecting your comforter. Trust us, your comforter will appreciate the additional support.

A good top sheet isn’t just good for comforter protection either. Top sheets can improve your relationship with your comforter too. It is much easier to clean sheets than your comforter, so the right sheet set can make your household chores quick and easy—and who doesn’t love that?

The Top Sheet Has Been Reinvented

The biggest complaint about top sheets is always that they add more work when you make the bed. Traditional top sheets can get tangled and pushed to the bottom of the bed—and that’s why we reinvented them. We knew that top sheets were good, but we also knew that they could be great.

Our no-tuck top sheet is organic and made to support healthy living and better habits. Designed to stay in place all night long, making your bed is as easy as ever. With our remade Toesty Sheets, you can get all of the benefits with none of the setbacks. Our sheets are fitted at the bottom and nice and loose at the top, keeping you comfortable while also keeping your top sheet under control. It’s time to bring the top sheet back into your life (or upgrade it at the very least).

How to Wash Cotton Sheets for Less Wrinkles

How to Wash Cotton Sheets for Less Wrinkles

Learning to wash organic sheets

Learning to wash cotton sheets is easy. Besides, there is nothing like layering yourself in the coolness of freshly laundered 100 percent organic percale. Whether a chilly evening bundled under blankets or a summer nap, a luxury bedding set separates your skin from the mattress and the blankets layered on top of you. Importantly, they help protect by applying a removable layer between you and your mattress. Body oils, lotions, dirt, and dead skin cells wash away instead of resting on your puffy sleeper.

Like anything you love, giving special attention will prolong the life of your sheets. Our luxury bed sheets will grow softer with a tad more care, ensuring you continue to enjoy them for years. Our weave count, a high 400, confirms the fabric will grow more soothing, with a little more wrinkles, but that only comes naturally with age.

While you can professionally launder our product, home care provides all the cleaning you need. Cold or warm water offers the best cotton sheet wash. Like an ice bath waking up your skin, a cold water rinse for percale makes it perfectly perky.

Before placing your set into the dryer, untangle the wet bed sheets and gently place before tumbling on low. This assists in mitigating any wrinkles which may occur while tossing in the drying drum. Furthermore, your cotton should be dried separately from other materials, as the weight can create unwanted folds.

How to wash cotton sheets for less wrinkles

  • Cold or warm water for the wash cycle.
  • Organic or baking soda-based laundry detergents without fabric softeners are best.
  • If possible, wash the semi-fitted bed sheets separately unless washing with fabrics of the same weight (never mix with colors).
  • Use half of the recommended amount of detergent. Commercial ingredients can be harsh.
  • Do not use fabric softeners, and never use chlorine bleach for whitening. They both can weaken the supple cotton fibers.
  • A cold water rinse is best.
  •

Drying Instructions for Organic Cotton Sheets

  • Tumble dry on the permanent press or low temperature setting only.
  • Using high heat will “burn” the sheet fibers and cause them to lose their natural softness. It will also weaken the weave, leading to shorter longevity.
  • It’s even better to hang dry in the sun. (Who does that any more?)
  • Remove your luxury sheets at the end of the drying process and smooth them while folding, disappearing any small folds.
  • Don’t over dry the sheets.
  • Percale cotton wrinkles more than polyester-cotton blend. You may press your sheets using the cotton or linen setting on your iron.
  •

Wrinkle Reduction for Percale Sheets

One hundred percent organic cotton wrinkles. It’s a fact. To make a prettier bed and craft a smoother appearance without ironing, we recommend these simple steps (Have a spray bottle filled with water or a favorite linen spray at the ready):

  • Place your fitted sheet over the bed corners. Very lightly, spritz liquid to release any creases. The water relaxes the fibers, and the stretching produces a tension, thereby pulling out any creases, casting a smooth surface.
  • Lay your flat sheet over the fitted and tuck it around the mattress as tightly as possible. Once you have a semi-smooth surface, a light dusting of liquid will release any sharp rumples.
  • Place the rest of your bedding over the sheets.

By following these easy care instructions to wash cotton sheets, they will keep you cool and comfortable for years to come.

Our recommended 5 easy life hacks

Reduce stress and save time for things you love

You’re exhausted and ready for bed. You start the dishwasher, check the coffee pot for the morning, and call it a night. As you brush your teeth, your brain goes through the list of things you did not get done at work or home today. All those small chores and tasks keep piling up on your to-do list.

What if you could find an extra five minutes several times a day? Impossible? Not with a few easy life hacks we’ve discovered that could give you up to an hour back to focus on the things that really matter the most to you. For example, how about spending more time with the people you love, cooking that incredible recipe you found, or maybe just taking a hot bath.

Life Hack #1: Prepare the night before

We’ve all had one of those mornings where we didn’t prepare the night before and are scrambling to get ready for the day. Set your day up for success by preparing the night before. Lay your clothes and bag out for the next day, do a quick meal prep, and preview your calendar. You perform all of these tasks  the night before. That way, you aren’t rushing to figure out what’s for lunch as you realize you’re late for a meeting you didn’t even know you had.

Life Hack #2: Time block your tasks for the day

Time blocking your day is extremely beneficial if you have a lot to do in a short amount of time. It also makes it easier to plan your day and take breaks. Designate time in your day for your most important tasks and put it in your calendar. Work on it for 50 to 60 minutes, take a break, and then get started on the next thing on your to-do list. Only work on one task at a time. Time blocking allows you to increase your productivity, focus, and knock another thing off of your to-do list. Also, put buffer time in your calendar to think, analyze, take a walk, or just read an interesting article.

Life Hack #3: Put your devices on do not disturb or turn notifications off

Every 15 minutes or less, you receive a text, Signal, Whatsapp, TikTok alert, email notification, chat notification, Website notices, and more. If you allow yourself to get distracted by one or all of those, you spend your entire day ping-ponging without ever finishing any one task. Alternatively, if you turn off your notifications, you focus on the task at hand. When you’re done focusing on that single task, then take 15 minutes to read and respond to all of your notifications and texts. with this easy life hack, you’ll be amazed at how much more productive you are and how much time you unnecessarily spend on your phone, devices, and content. The same practice goes for email btw. Do not let email distract you throughout the day. Pick specific times to respond to and create emails, so you focus on that one task at that time.

Easy bed making

Life Hack #4: Clean a little every day

How many of you waste your precious day off cleaning your house, doing laundry, and catching up with dirty dishes in the sink? You put off these tasks but then end up losing your day off. Instead, use your time more efficiently by cleaning a little every single day. Make one day a laundry day, dust your room after work on Tuesdays, or clean the kitchen on Wednesdays. The main goal is to do a little here and there, so you enjoy your weekends without worrying about cleaning the whole house. And for goodness sake, just wash the dishes after each meal. Five minutes, and you’re done! While you’re at it, make your bed as soon as you get up. You’ll love having a clean, put-together bedroom to start your day.

Life Hack #5: Use apps and subscription services to help you save time

All good leaders know the key to success is delegation! It’s time you delegated some of YOUR work to people who are experts. When you are having a busy day or week, use services designed to help you save time and gain productivity, such as Instacart, Doordash, and Hello Fresh. Find services that work for you and your routine and use them to your advantage. If you order groceries once a month, it will save you about 30 minutes to an hour that week.
